Self-love is guided by principles, integrity, and rectitude. I have heard it said that if we fail to stand for something, we will fall for anything. Loving ourselves launches an examination of the beliefs and values that influence our thoughts, decisions, and actions. Why are we agreeing to do this? Are we going along to get along even though we know it is wrong, unethical, takes advantage of others?
Self-love determines whether or not our belief and value system is in right standing with God’s word. In the end, we are accountable to God, and it is our relationship with Him that is at stake. When we firmly root our value system in God’s and be not moved from those principles, we naturally do right by ourselves (and others) especially when we are vulnerable.
Others will disagree. Others will scoff. Others will try to persuade you that it is okay; it’s just this one time, this small thing. But we are called to be in the world and not of the world.
Be not afraid to walk a different path or offer a dissenting opinion in the spirit of righteousness.

Self-Love Affirmation
Just for today, I love myself with integrity. I make choices that honor my God-led values. I stand firm in my God-inspired beliefs. I take action that exemplify the principles of unconditional love, grace, mercy, and the fruit of the spirit. I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I am becoming all God created me to be. I love you, [your name here]!
Open and Receive:
- Stand in front of a mirror.
- Look into your eyes.
- Say the affirmation aloud.
- Repeat several times throughout the day.
It may feel strange, but keep trying! Let the truth set you free.

5 Minute Fill-Up
Loving ourselves with integrity requires us to go all in. We must make up our mind: will we commit to standing firm in our God-led beliefs or compromise our values to fit in, be accepted, win?
We win when we go all in on God’s principles for living our lives.
Stand firm in your convictions. Crank it loud and sing it proud!

Self-Love Nightcap
Pastor John Gray said it best tonight during service: it’s time to choose. Choose who you are going to be in this world. Choose to align with the character of Jesus. Choose life over death. Choose blessings over curses. Choose the future over the past. That’s how we live principled. That’s how we love ourselves with integrity.
When we do, we just might find everything we’ve been searching for for decades.
