Today, we launch our new Self-Love eMinistry!
God orchestrated the #ConnectionWeekend phone call challenge to search my heart and test me so that I could become aware of any thoughts, beliefs, or tendencies that are hindering me from becoming all God created me to be.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the very door I am hesitant to walk through (i.e. initiating contact and building meaningful, personal, non work-related relationships) is the very door through which I must enter to gain full access to the calling placed upon my life.
That hesitation is directly rooted to past trauma which makes this a self-love issue. God gave me the idea for this eMinistry in December. He always finds a definitive way to bring His will to pass. Gotta love Him!
I invite you to walk your journey to greater self-love with me as I walk mine. We can do this together.

5 Minute Fill-Up
This song is the anthem for our Self-Love Ministry!
God, out of His unconditional love for us, created and ignited within us a unique fire that no one can neither completely explain nor extinguish — not even you. As a child you may not have understood it. Yet, you fearlessly harnessed and allowed its energy to lead you to some wacky ideas, interesting I-wonder-what-would-happen-if moments, and ahead-of-its-time creations.
Then life happened. You tried and seemingly failed. What if I told you that failure is a myth, that there are only lessons to be learned in each attempt? As my grandmother used to say, “Nothing beats a failure but a try.” I’m here to tell you that it’s not too late. Don’t die with those God-planted dreams inside of you.
Get your fire back. Crank it loud and sing it proud!

Self-Love Nightcap
Old traumas and dramas can be like a virus infecting our thoughts and beliefs. If left untreated, they can cripple our unique voice, gifts, and talents; kill our hopes and dreams; and prevent us from fulfilling the special purpose for which God created us.
God’s healing balm? To face it head on. God instructs the Israelites in Numbers 21:6-9 to look at an exact replica of the very adversary that was killing them – an image that evoked pure fear – in order to be healed of the damage caused by their persecutor.
On this self-love journey, God is asking us to do the same: choose to face whatever causes the most fear, the most shame, the most pain, and the most suffering. Know that the power and presence of God will transform what looks like a death sentence for your relationships, career, ministry, finances, or inner peace into a source of new life. The #ConnectionWeekend challenged me to face a 40-year-old wound that now stands as the thing I fear the most: initiating personal contact and risking meaningful connection only to be met with rejection.
In hindsight, I can recount many instances where God has led me to take similar action. I did it with my knees knocking, but I did it. And I came out on the other side the better for it. Thus, once again, I put my faith, trust, and safety in God’s hands as I continue walking forward. I pray that you do as well.
